Martin & Jessica Salas

Founders
  • Martin and Jessica Salas are the founders of Dogwood Lane Children’s Academy. With a background in chemical engineering and business management for Martin, and a career in arts education for Jessica, they decided to bring their gifts together to create the ultimate school. Together, they define the concept of S.T.E.A.M.

Martin received a BS in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He has spent his career leading engineering teams, business development teams and organizations in several industries. He has always combined his technical skills with his understanding of business to help organizations excel. He is very excited about implementing the S.T.E.A.M. philosophy that has been the core of his career.

Jessica Salas studied education with an emphasis on the arts at East Carolina University. She holds a BS in Dance Education and worked as an arts integrator in the public schools. She is the founder of Carolina Dance Academy, a successful studio in the Steele Creek area that has offered dance, gymnastics, and theatre to students ages three and up for the past 18 years.

Martin and Jessica are the parents of four beautiful daughters who share their love of working with young children. They love to dance, sing, act, play the harp, soccer and basketball, and horseback riding. The Salas girls have had the opportunity to travel to many parts of the world and love to share their experiences with our students.
